  • The 57th BTBA Nationals is being held at Stroud Bowl in Gloucestershire over 3 weekends starting Saturday 10th March through to the 25th March 2018.

    The Nationals have 3 different average divisions and the tournament is made up of 4 events, Singles, Doubles, and 4-person team, culminating in an All Events division.

    And for this year, thanks to tour sponsor B and P Fabrications Leicester we have created a new event - TEAM ALL EVENTS. The team with greatest collective total over all the events will win £600! So now every game, and every event counts.

    The All events winners in the C division (174 and under for men and 159 and under for ladies) will win a BTBA Adult Tour Exclusive Striking Shirt.

    The Nationals also makes up part of the Senior and Adult BTBA Tours with ranking points available. And this year the Nationals has been classed as a MAJOR on the Adult tour. This means that more rankings points then are usually available. So, for winning the individual All Events the winner will receive 200pts as opposed to the usual 120.

    BTBA Nationals

    Results of the 2018 Bershire County Trials held at Farnborough Bowl on Saturday 27th January and Sunday 4th February.

    Jason Agate added another 300 game to his total when rolled another one in the third game of his set.

    The Trials were a combined trials for all Berskshire County Teams.

    A good set from Alan Keddie to take first place in the Scottish National Doubles, Bowlplex, Dunfermline, January 27th/28th.

    Alan rolled a 745 series [259-268-218] and his partner Mark McQueen rolled a 709 series [269-214-226] for a 1454 to top the Doubles Section A,

    Newbury YBC entered the 3rd South of England Youth Open 2018, Go Bowling, Dunstable, on the 20th,21st,27th, and 28th, January.

    The Tenpin Tour 1 was held at Starlanes, Acocks Green, on Sunday 21st January.

    Jacqui Cooper qualified in first place in Round One rolling a six game scratch score 950 and with bonus made a total of 1388, in the Final Jacqui bowled a four game score of 569 and with her bonus made a grand total of 2249 and finished in second place.

    For the Men Gerry Olver bowled a six game 1275 with bonus 1413 for sixth place, Alan Keddie rolled a six game series of 1268 with no bonus again, Brian Page finshed with total of 1356 and qualfied in eighteenth place, in the Final Gerry bowled a 734 plus bonus made a grand total of 2239 for twelfth spot, Brian bowled a 756 and with his bonus finshed with a 2324 and moved up to eighth place.

    Results from the Diamond 3’s held at Farnborough from the 29th November to 3rd December.

    Danny Lalley, BBBC3, made third place in the Singles with 213-220 = 433, 505 with handicap, Jason Agate bowled with Alan Meades, Pin Heads 3, to win the Doubles, 481-525 = 1006 and with handicap 1044, and for the Trios Sarah Hood, OFFS team, made second place with 234-255 = 489 for a team handicap total of 1481, and team BBBC2, Phil Staff, Derek Crisp, Karen Farmer, finished in third place 556-607 = 1163 plus handicap made a total of 1433, in the All Events Jason Agate tied in second place with scratch score of 1432 and a 1444 with handicap, three pins short of top place, and four pins below was Graham Harmer, BBBC3, on 1440, scratch 1206.

    Olivia Streak from Newbury YBC qualified for the Under 11 Girls and bowled a 6 game Round 1 score of 847, the last game was a 185 which put Olivia in third place and the top three Stepladder Final, in the Final Olivia lost to Yolanta Stephenson 134 – 191 and remained in third place.

    BTBA Tenpintour Masters ~ 24th - 26th November, Stroud.

    Jacqui Cooper and Janet Page bowled in Squad A in Round 1 on Friday, Jacqui rolled a five-game total of 775 and with bonus totalled 1090 for 4th place, Janet rolled 810 and totalled 1070 for 6th place, Squad B Round 1 saw Brian Page take the top the top spot with a 1062 series and a total of 1282, Graham Stewart was in second place with 1087 and a total of 1212.

    After all the squads had bowled Brian was second place and Graham was now eighth, and for the Ladies Jacqui was second and Janet was in fifth place.

    In the Men’s Final Round 1 Brian rolled a four-game series of 698 for a total of 874 and twelfth place while Graham bowled 804 and totalled 904 and tenth place, in the Ladies Final Jacqui bowled a four-game series of 615 and totalled 883 for third place and the Masters Grand Final.

    In the Grand Final Round 2, Jacqui made second place with 154 game, 221 total, Round 3 and Jacqui rolled a 163 for a 230 total and second spot, in the Grand Final Jacqui rolled a scratch game of 201 against Sandra Simmonds 215 but with bonus Jacqui totalled 268 over 253 and took the Masters Title

    The 2018 Berkshire County Trials for all 2018 County Teams will be held at Farnborough Bowl, Farnborough, on Saturday 2th January and Sunday 4th February.

    Well done to Sarah Hood for making second place in the 2017 BTBA UK Championship Tour Rankings with a Tour Total of 721 Points.

    Robbie Bowden now heads the JTE Ranking List 2017-18 after the Elimnator Singles at Stroud,5th and 11th/12th November.

    Robbie was also selected for the YBC England Team to play in the 2018 European Youth Championships to be held at Aalborg, Denmark, 24th March to 2nd April.

    The old Wokingham Superbowl closed on Sunday 12th November, the new 14 lane Superbowl opened on Wednesday 15th November but it will not be fully open until December.

    Buckinghamshire Men are the 2017 Adult Inter Counties Champions, the 2017 Ladies Champions are Surrey, winning again after the second place last year, the Adult Inter Counties Final was held at MFA Nottingham, on the 4th/5th November.

    Berkshire Men and Ladies teams both qualified for the Final, the Men finished in sixth pace and the Ladies in eleventh place.

    Across the sea to the Emerald Isle for Newbury YBC bowler Robbie Bowden to take part in the Junior Irish Open at Leisureplex, Stillorgan from the 3rd – 5th November.

    In Round 1 Robbie bowled a 6 game total of 1333 = 227.1 ave. to take top spot in the Under 19 Boys division, another 3 games in Round Two and Robbie added a 3 game total of 642 to make an overall total of 1975 for second spot and a place in the Round Robin.

    In the four person Round Robin Robbie won the first game lost the next two to finish in second place with tournament total of 2598 and 216.5 average.

    Also after the results of the Lincolnshire Youth Open Robbie has moved up the first place in the JTE 2017-18 Ranking List.

    Of to Yorkshire for Alan Keddie who entered the West Yorkshire Senior Singles at Go Bowling, Shipley, on 29th October and bowled a 1427 over the six game qualifier and with age bonus of 36, yes he is getting older, made his total 1463 and first place.

    After the first 12 cut from Round 1 it was another 3 games in Round 2 which Alan added a good series of 675 and his total including bonus was 2156, a lead of 99 going into the Final Round, another five games and Alan rolled a scratch total of 1063 and his total which included a win bonus was 1153 which made his grand total 3309 and secured first place.

    A slow start for Alan Keddie in the Scotish Open, Bowlpex, Dunfermline, 14th-15th October

    Alan rolled a 8 game Round 1 total of 1759, 219.8 ave., the scoring was high and Alan's total put in tenth place out of the sixteen qualifying places, Round Two and Alan bowled a four game set of 913 to climb up to fourth place and the top six Round Robin Final, Alan won two of the five games in good final and finished the day in sixth place with a 220.6 average.

    The 2017 Senior Inter County Championships, MFA Bowl, Nottingham, 14th-15th October.

    Yorkshire Men are the 2107 Senior Champions, retaining the title for fifth time, Licolnshire took second place and Hampshire were third.

    For the Ladies Dorset are the new Senior Champions with Kent second and Staffordshire third.



    Robbie Bowden from Newbury YBC had a good start in the Lincolnshire Youth Open at MFA Bowl, Scunthorpe, on 7th/8th/14th/15th October, Robbie was in Divsion 4 Regular and rolled a 653 in the Singles for fourth place, 25 pins off the top, in the Doubles Robbie bowled with Oliver Spindley [Scunthorpe], it was agood choice becasue they finished in first place with a total of 1304 [Robbie 631], in the Team Event Robbie bowled a 659 which gave him a All Events total of 1943 and this put him second place, another seventeen pins would have made 1st place.

    Carly Bushell bowling in Divsion 3 Female finished in third place in the All Events with a total of 1559, only seven adrift off second place.

    Olivia Streak, a Newbury YBC bowler has qualified for the BTBA 2017 Tour Finals in the Under 11 Girls divison, the event will be held at MFA Bowl, Nottingham , on the 3rd December 2017.

    After along delay the NAYBC have now released the final results of the NAYBC Poole Doubles, 16th/17th/23rd/24th September.

    The doubles team, Joshua Streak/Matthew Streak from Newbury YBC rolled a eight game total of 2493 to finish in second place in Division 3.

    BTBA 2018 Senior National Championships will be held at the Airport Bowl, Harlington, on May 12th/13th.

    David Yeates of the Diones Dudes team, won the Singles Event in the Bowlrite 6’s at Hollywood Bowl, Tolworth, on Sunday 1st October, David rolled a 698 scratch series and with handicap made total of 770.

    Well done to Sarah Hood for provisionaly making top spot in the Ladies Hadicap section of the Befordshire Mixed Trios at Go Bowling, Dunstable, on 30th September/1st October, Sarah came second in the Scratch section, needed a few more pins but Sarah did win a new shirt.

    Gerry Olver made top spot in Round 1 of the BTBA Tempintour 8, Airport Bowl, Harlington, on 24th September, Gerry had a total 1549 [1357 scratch] over the six games, Alan Keddie made sixth place with a scratch total of 1438, no bonus for him, both made the Final.

    In the Final Gerry rolled a four game scratch total of 733 and with his bonus and Round1 total he had final total of 2410, and finished in third place, Alan bowled a 959 with no bonus and his final total was 2397, and he finished fourth place, he needed one more game to catch Gerry, he had the high average with a 239.7 over the event.

    Well done to Robbie Bowden, Newbury YBC, who finished in second place in the Junior Team England Masters 2017 held at Brize Norton on the 9th/10th September, Robbie made a total 1595 of over the six games, 199.3 average.

    Robbie also made the NAYBC Team England Squad for the European Youth Chanpionships at Lovvang Bowl, Aalborg, Denmark, from the 24th March - 2nd April 2018.

    Also from Newbury YBC Nicole Ediker finished in fifth place with a total of 1426, 178.2 average.

    Sarah Hood finished in sixth place in the final standings of the 2017 Team England Trials, bowling over three centres Sarah made a total of 160 points to finish in the top ten.

    The results of the Adult Inter Counties 2017 Qualifying Round, South, held at Hollywood Bowl, Tolworth, on Sunday 3rd September.

    Berkshire entered a Men's and Ladies team and both teams qualified for the Final in November, Men in 3rd place and Ladies in fourth place.

    To single out the bowlers, well done to Alan Keddie rolling a 289 game and Robbie Bowden for a complete set of 200 games, but the accolade goes to Sarah Hood for a 1398 series.

    After along delay we have the Junior Team England Academy results for 2016-2017.

    Three Berkshire YBC bowlers attended the Academy and attained these Passing Grades,

    Kent are the 2017 Boys U15 Inter County Champions and the Girls title was won by Hampshire, the event was held at Go bowling, Dunstable, on Sunday 6th August.

    Berkshire only entered a Boys Team and they finished in 10th place.

    Congratulations to Team England bowler Laura Marcham for rolling a pefect game playing for the Wigan team in the Tuesday Trios League at Wokingham Superbowl on the 25th July, it is Laura's third 300 game.

    U18 Inter County 2017 Boys Champions are Yorkshire who defeated Lancashire, the Girls Champions are Lincolnshire who defeated Hampshire,

    The U18 Inter County Championships 2017 were held at Go Bowling, Dunstable, on 1st/2nd July, Berkshire did not enter any teams for the Championships.

    Resdev Senior Tour held at Superbowl, Mansfield, on the 2nd July was won by Alan Keddie, Alan qualified in sixth place on 1361, won two of the four games in the Round Robin to make the Final and in the Final he rolled a 280 and 186 to take first place.

    Four Berkshire YBC bowlers qualified for the NAYBC Junior Triple Crown Trials 2017 which were held at Bowlplex, Poole, on June 24th/25th, there were two divisions in the sixteen game trials on two different dressings, U16 and U19.

    Nicole Ediker made the team when she finished in 2nd place in the U15 Girls with Points Total of 250.5 and total pinfall of 2910 ~ 181.8 average,.

    Joshua Streak just missed out on the U16 Boys Team with 7th place, Points Total 192.0, pinfall 2727 ~ 170.4 average.

    Carly Bushell bowled in the U19 Girls and finished in 9th place with Points Total of 211.0, pinfall 2558 ~ 159.8 average.

    Robbie Bowden bowled in the U19 Boys and finished in 14th place on a Points Total of 142.5, pinfall 2765 ~ 172.8 average.

    The 2017 Junior Triple Crown will be bowled at Bowlplex, Dunfermline, Scotland, from the 24th – 28th August.

    Two Berkshire YBC Girls qualified for the Final of the 39th NAYC Classic Singles held at the Charrington Bowl, Tolworth, on the 9th/10th June.

    In the Round Robin Final Carly won one of the three games and finished in third place, Olivia also won one of her three games and finished in fourth place.

    Andre Davidson qualified in ninth place with 1212 scratch total over the six games, 1398 with bonus, and Graham Stewart in eleventh place with a scratch total of 1194, 1380 with bonus, in Round 1 of the BTBA Tenpintour 6 held the Airport Bowl, Harlington, on Sunday 11th June.

    In the Final Andre rolled a 788 scratch over the four games and with the bonus added finished with a total of 2310 for tenth place, Graham bowled a 863 scratch over the four games and with the bonus he finished in top spot with a total 2367, winning by seven pins.

    For the Ladies Janet Page made the final with a six game scracth score of 990 plus the bonus made 1344 for fifth palce, in the Final Janet added a scratch score of 690 and with the bonus moved up to third spot.

    Newbury YBC bowlers, Robbie Bowden, Nicole Ediker, and Joshua Streak, qualified for the Junior Team England Triple Crown Trials which will be held at Bowlpex, Poole, on the 24th June.

    Well David Yeates must have arrived on time when he partnered Danny Lalley in the BUBTA/BTBA Adult Championship Doubles at the Aiport Bowl, Harlington, on the 14th May.

    The team Double D qualified in second place in the Handicap Section with a six game total pinfall of 3027, scratch total David 1274 ~ Danny 1135, in the 6 team Round Robin Final Double D roll a scratch total of 2335 plus the winning bonus finished with a total 2435 and third place.

    Senior BTBA TPT5, Stroud, 7th May, Andre Davidson qualified in 5th place in Round 1 with a six game scratch total of 1186 with Handcap/Bonus he had a total of 1420, in Round 2 he added a four game total of 764 which with Handicap/Bonus moved him up to second place with Final Total of 2340.

    Round 1 for the Ladies and Tricia Outrim took top spot with a scratch score of 898 plus H/B made a total of 1313. not a lucky number because in Round 2 Tricia rolled a 625 plus H/B and a Final Total of 2154 and 5th place.

    Absolutely Bowling, Slough, closed its doors on Sunday 7th May because it was unable to renew its contact with the council, the eighteen lane centre was opened in 2010.

    Berkshire Area BTBA AGM was held at 10.00 am on Sunday 26th March at MFA Bowl, Newbury.

    Jason Agate partnered with Ray Teece bowling as Airport Fruit & Veg, won the scratch section of the Easter Doubles at the Airport Bowl over the weekend 15th/16th April, they rolled a total of 1335 [ 719 - 616 ], BBBC21 team of Homer Joseph and Phil Staff finished in third place in the Handicap section with total of 1298.

    Robbie Bowden finished in sixth place in Q1 of the Bromborough Matchplay Singles over the weekend 14th - 17th April at Bromborough Bowl, with a eight game series of 1616, he remained in sixth after all the squads were adjusted for Q2.

    Round 1 of the Matchplay and Robbie won the match 419 - 319, R2 and Robbie won this match 453 - 369, in the semi final Robbie lost a close match 353 - 372 to Jamie Gore who went on the take the title.

    Carly Bushell also qualified for the Matchplay in sixteenth place but lost the first match 355 - 397

    AMF Peterborough are staging County Challenge Tournament on Sunday 23rd July.

    Number 4 of the BTBA Tenpin Tour was held Acocks Green on Sunday 9th April, Alan Keddie rolled a 1432 series over the 6 games in Round 1 which put him in second place, in the Final Alan rolled a 938 for final total of 2370, 237 average, but not enough to catch the leader and finished in second place.

    Tricia Lloyd aslo bowled in this event and qualified in fifth place, there were only six places in the Final and Tricia did not have a good time and finished in sixth place.

    Carly Bushell [bury] and Connor Taylor [linc] bowling under the name of Lincbury won Section 2 of the JTE/YTE Torquay Doubles with a 8 game score of 2694 at AMF Bowl, Torquay, on Sunday 9th April, The Newbs, Robbie Bowden and Johua Streak came third with a score of 2629.

    Results of the U15 Berskhire County Team Trials held on Saturday 18th March and Saturday 25th March at the MFA Bowl, Newbury, there was no U18 trials.

    The U15 Inter County Championships will be held at Go Bowling, Dunstable, on the 6th August.

    Val Hopcroft finished in first place in the Ladies B All Events with a total of 1654 for the three events in the 2nd Senior National Championships, Namco, Norwich, over the weekends Saturday/Sunday 4th/5th February 2017, Val was also in the Enigma team who finished in first place in the Ladies B Team Events
